Tents, Dance Recitals, and Water Fountains

Helping Grandpa and dad put up the tent

Friday night we helped Grampa put up a tent and we slept in the backyard.
We played games an Grampa made carmel popcorn (so yummy).
We were really tired by the time we finally got into the tent - it didn't take long before we were all asleep.

Daisy's Dance Recital

Adorable miss Daisy and sweet Mykala

Saturday afternoon (after Daisy's recital), we went to West Gate and played in the water.

Margo's Pics

I'm not crazy about some of the family pictures, so maybe don't reuse the few that I've decided to post. Margo did a great job, but I hate that we took pictures in hiking clothes, it was a dumb idea.
Next time we'll look nicer.

Day Trip to Prescott

Mom and Margo came to Phoenix to see us and celebrate my graduation. We went on a day trip to Prescott and we were surprised - the lake was breathtaking. The rocks looked other-wordly and beautiful, and the rain clouds just added more depth. Aside from the two or three people in canoes, we were the only ones there.
It was so peaceful.
We got rained on a little bit at the end, but it didn't matter. We found another favorite spot to visit.
Jacer was a champ! He was running around, jumping and climbing on the rocks. He worried me a couple times, but he was a natural! And I was so proud of my little girl. She found a lot of lizards, would take us to the exact spot she saw them, and guide us back (there wasn't really a trail; we were climbing up and down random rocks). She was such a leader!
And the kids got some battle scars to bring home too.

The Raven Cafe

The roof of the cafe.

The awesome roof.
("Tut, tut, it looks like rain.")

When Mykala saw the picture on our order number, she said, "Yay! We got this sign because we are CHAMPIONS for climbing those rocks!! Yeah!"

:)

We weren't on the roof for very long. Unfortunately we had to move the party inside because it started raining.

(Weird that I found myself wanting to read some Poe, huh? The rain only made it worse.)
