Dad

Since yesterday marked two years since my dad passed away, I wanted to do something for him. I went digging through some old pictures I had in the closet to see if I could find a good picture of him that hasn't been shown a lot, or that meant something to me in a unique way. Unfortunately, I didn't come across anything new; however, I did find a lot of old pictures that brought back a lot of good, happy memories. So instead of making this post about my dad, I thought I'd dedicate this post to the 'good ol' days'....

This picture was taken the day of or the day before we headed to Phoenix. Erin was so little and so unhappy! This was one of the better ones of Erin...
As dad liked to joke, it's just not a family picture unless someone is crying.

Me and my markers.

Ryan and one of his Ninja Turtles.  Right before his Power Ranger phase. :)

For some reason, I was thinking that this picture was taken in Roswell, but I was very wrong! This was most definitely taken in Logan.
You're so cute, Lexi!

This picture; however, was taken in Roswell. This was one of those unusual times when little ol' Roswell got snow. As you can see, Lexi was NEVER picked on.

I was a gypsy, Ryan a pirate, and Lexi was.... crying. :)

Ryan in his bike get-up. I have no idea how I got this picture, but it's so cute! I love how he's only wearing one glove - and a winter one. :)

Lexi and I

Lexi in the greatest state ever! :)
This was taken in 2004, when my family helped me pack up and move my stuff to Phoenix, Arizona -a major event in my life.

Lexi and her snowman! (In Roswell)

Look, Ryan! The orange house! Course, it's not incredible for you because you can drive by it anytime you'd like... but I was amazed I had a picture of it! This house is the first house I remember. And how great is it that it was orange?! :)
I remember the Mickey and Minnie stickers on our bedroom wall, the awesome swing set, and the downstairs neighbors. And am I just imagining things, or did we really have raspberries in the backyard, too?

It took Mykala multiple times to get this one right. She guessed Lexi, Livi, Erin, and herself (lol!)
Nope, it's me. :)

This is Snoopy, my first cat. She was my pal for a very very long time (15 years?)
She always laid in the weirdest places.
I miss her like crazy; I think about her often.

This is Gus! He often thought he was a cat - and other times a person. :)
He was so lovable - and so loving! I miss him.
(And this is also a picture of a snow day in Utah... which I don't miss at all.)
I need to find a better picture of him.

This isn't a very good picture of Mitchell, but what do you expect from old, misc. pictures found in a closet?  She was our New Mexican cat. She seemed to hate the snow.
She and Snoopy never got along either, but I think it's because Snoopy was never in the mood to babysit.

I have no idea how I got this picture. I don't recall seeing it before.
It's a pretty cute picture of Lexi though.

The fam - a long time ago. Was this picture taken in Roswell?
This was before Livi and Erin were even born!
You are missed, dad!

Taste of India

So, tonight for dinner I am attempting an Indian dish called Chicken Vindaloo. It'll be my first time cooking with Indian spices, and my first Indian dish, so I am very excited!! Hopefully it'll turn out just as good (or better!) than Tandoori Times. :)  (I've just got to figure out how to make it less spicy for the kids without taking all the fun out of it for us.) Wish me luck!

Spring Break

Eh - go figure. All the beautiful, warm weather disappears during the weekend right before Spring Break. :) Of course, it was absolutely fantastic that we got to hide inside with warm drinks and blankets during the crazy rain storms. So I guess now is a perfect time for rain!
We got hail so bad Sunday afternoon, that we had big ice chunks on our windshield. We'll upload the photo soon!

Also, on Saturday, poor little Mykala fell at the park and cut her lip open. It's still very swollen, but we are SO glad it wasn't as serious as we originally thought! Her friend Isabelle was there at the time and was so worried about her. I don't blame her - it was pretty dramatic! And that Kala of ours is just prone to lip sores!!

"That's our Jacer!"

This one is titled "Buduppaduppadup"
Yep. We love him.

Movies by Mykala

Mykala's Explorer can take pictures and video - it's pretty dang awesome. She has already done a bunch of both, but I thought I'd share the two videos that are our favorites. In fact, the second one was made because the first one was such a hit with the kids. :)
I'm excited for more Mykala movies!

#2

Kala lost her second tooth today!

Crazy Hair Day!

Crazy hair day at John Jacobs   :)

Jacer's Birthday

Little Jacer's #3 Birthday at Gramma and Grampa's house. I love this picture.

Chad and I made our first character cake: Light-a-ning McQueen! :) It was pretty fun, but much harder than we thought it'd be!

Doin' birthdays the Lunceford way - celebrating more than once. :)
(And at the end of the them all were monsters, cars, and trains.)
