Blue Angels

We left at 6am Saturday morning and drove to El Centro, California to see the Blue Angels air show.
We spent 6 hours in hot sunny weather trying to get the kids pumped about the airplanes. The first half was a rough experience, but it was worth it in the end.

Mykala took these first three pictures.
They were planes towards the entrance of the air show.

Jacer the Punk Racer

I love Mykala's pose here! She's so freakin' cute. :)

Hellcat and Bearcat
(I like the Hellcat - I'm a little peeved that I couldn't grab a good picture of it.)

Boom.

A super cool orange rescue helicopter.

This performance was pretty cool, and it was pretty cool that it was a female pilot! :)

Stunt Racers... the kids were saying "Go red plane! Go red plane!"
Towards the end, they were cheering for both of them. (The white and green one won.)

People were in Star Wars costumes and it was pretty awesome... except this storm trooper was a little too busy texting to do her job at first.
I figured the other guy would've scared the crap out of the kids, so I didn't even ask. :)

The kids got Blue Angels airplanes.
Jacer's is #4 (because that's how old he is) and Kala's is #6.
They LOVED their planes and still carry them everywhere!

Fat Albert

Chad labeled this perfectly as the pouting tent.
We were "patiently" waiting for the Blue Angels to start.

Dad of the Year :)

Finally... the Blue Angels!

Jace and Kala found a friend who had a Blue Angels airplane too. It was really cute because they were playing together, orchestrating their own show while the Blue Angels were flying above us.

We were leaving, trying to beat the crowds when this happened. I hurried as fast as I could to grab this shot... it was awesome!
We left the show amazed, excited, tired, and sunned-out. :)
