Polar Express

This was an event in Logan that we attended. The kids really liked it!

 Sweet Little Erin!

 Jacer Speed Racer

Miss Myk (who's not smiling.)

And yes... even Bear. He is part of the family, after all! (All Jacer's idea!)

Jacer was hooked on Uncle Ryan that night. :)

 Chillin' with the aunts

 Burying Jacer in pillows...

 The whole famn damily

Like I said.... hooked!

When the event was pretty much over, Jacer went crazy running around the gym... he was running circles around strangers (literally) and was picking fights. It was great fun. :) If I have a video that works, I'll upload it. I really hope I have one!

Winter

Ah. So the long-awaited winter break is here! And Christmas is so close! Wow.

Well, finals (for me) came and left. I lucked out with my classes this year and got to end a little early. Now I get to play the impatient waiting game until my grades are posted. Poor Chad isn't so lucky, but he's nearing the end. He has two more finals to go and will be free on Wednesday.
It's been a rough and crazy semester... and from all angles! We've struggled and have had to work extra hard. But we did it.

Since I'm already done, we've taken the kids completely out of daycare. It's been  nice to be just a mom again; it's hard being a mom and a student.

We leave for Utah soon and I'm feeling a little nervous with how quickly it's approaching. I'm not exactly looking forward to hauling my two kids, my crazy self, and all our luggage by myself. But it'll be great once all that's over! I'm also not looking forward to the cold. At all. Why can't Utah be warm and sunny like Phoenix?? (Did I mention it's 70 degrees right now?)

Oh well. I guess it's worth it. Those coats need to be dusted off and given some love, right? :) :)
(And hopefully this proves to you people how much I love you!!) :)

Anyway. If I don't make it on before it's too late, Merry Christmas!

Christmas Party

Kala and Jace performed in the church's Primary program. Jace was an adorable snowman and Kala was an awesome little singer! :)
(And sorry, they're unedited.)

Birthday Girl!

Our Miss Mykala is now 5 years old!!!!

We went to Grama and Grampa Lunceford's house and had a small Princess birthday party. Right now our little girl is crazy about Beauty and the Beast.

Mykala got a ton of presents, including this polka dot dress that she got from Grama and Grampa Lunceford.

Doesn't she look beautiful??

She and Grampa made a Birthday crown.

Kala got spoiled by Grama Jensen, too! She got lots of princess shoes, a princess dress, and jewelry. (She loves them!)

My Mykala and my Jace. :)

I love this picture.

Halloween 2010

Pumpkins that Daddy, Kala, and Mommy made
(I forgot to take a picture of them before we blew out the candles... so they aren't very lively!) :)

Daddy and Mommy (Kala snuck in!)

We had a pretty good Halloween this year! It was a really busy day, but it was fun! Kala looked forward to Halloween all week - she was so excited to be Belle! And she looked beautiful!  Getting her ready was so fun, but it was unfortunate that her hair was already messy by the time we got to the party. :) J Race looked adorable as a pirate, but it was funny getting him dressed. He thought the shirt was funny looking and he hated the "stubble" I tried to put on him. I had to call it quits after fighting with him over it. And he didn't care too much for the hat.... oh well. I'm happy he kept the "boots" on - I thought he'd hate those, too!
We got to make pumpkins this Halloween (unlike last year) and it was fun!  Kala wasn't disgusted by them like she was the first year we did it together. It completely grossed her out.. I think she even cried. Chad and I did awesome pumpkins that year! :) But this year, she chose the designs of her pumpkins herself and I think she even enjoyed cleaning them out!
At the party, the kids got to go trunk-or-treating. The kids, of course, got more candy than they can eat, so we'll have to help them (Shucks!)
....Isn't that why we send our kids trick-or-treating, though? They couldn't possibly handle all that candy by themselves!! :)

Happy Halloween, everyone - I hope it was wonderful!

Kala's Winning Clubhouse

Yep. That's what it was called. The Winning Clubhouse. :)

Driving

No road rage in this little boy! :)

October!

So, it's been a long time since I've been on this blog. We're probably in need of an update.
I had a lot of fun with this blog over the summer, became addicted, and then the busy semester took over. So I haven't been neglecting the blog on purpose. :)

This semester has been crazy for us. My classes are fun, but they're taking a lot out of me. I only wish I wasn't so rushed - I hate the feeling that I'm not giving them each 110%. But one of my classes is now over (and I'm happy to announce I got an A.) Now, I am in 3 classes and I have been beyond stressed! I have had tons of reading and lots of essay writing (3 essays are due this next week - wish me luck!) I have been busy trying to keep my head above water. Chad's been busy too. We haven't seen each other much the last few months.

The kids are doing pretty good. They're getting big.... Kala will be 5 very soon, even though to me she's already there, and little J-Race will be 2 in February. I can't believe it. And boy, have they been a handful! They've become extremely active and opinionated. They start fights with each other more than I'd like, and they crave attention 24/7.... if only there were 2 of me!
But the good times are still really good with them. They actually get along very well - they adore each other. Jace is talking a lot more, which is wonderful. I think my favorite is when he says "thank you." He says it so cute! His big sister is working on letters and sounds. We're really trying to push the reading thing. A lot of the kids at her school know how to read, and she kind of has a long way to go. We're working on it, though. She's smart enough, I just think that she likes the attention we give her more than she likes/wants to learn. So it's going very slow.  It's hard to believe that kids her age are reading....

Let's see.... what has happened in the last few months? We've had major (and expensive) car problems that are now taken care of (many thanks to Chad's parents), the kids aren't in daycare as often now as they were when we started (because of the car problems), and we've all been sick and miserable, but have gotten over it. We're also going to Utah this December.... YAY! We may freeze to death, but we're all really excited to see everyone again - we miss them! :)

Also, Halloween is quickly approaching! Kala is really excited about it and we have yet to get Jacer a costume.... that's on today's "to do."  Ideas, anyone??    (We're procrastinators, but not by choice!)
Last Halloween was dramatic... we were so busy that we weren't able to get a costume for Mykala until the day of. It was terrible.... the stores were packed with people and had little costumes left. We stood in a long line in order to get her one of the last costumes available. She looked great, of course, but it was a little too crazy! Hopefully it won't be the same thing this year for Jace. And I hope I'm able to find something fitting and cute. I'm already excited to take and post pictures of them all dressed up! :)  I love Halloween!!!!

I can't believe that October is almost over already.... and soon it'll be 2011. Craziness.

Princess Ball

Our little princess was invited to a ball last weekend (at Grama and Grampa's church.) She was so excited about it and talked about it a lot. :) The night finally came and she was accompanied by her two favorite princes.... Dad and Grampa!
Since this was only a Daddy-Grampa-Kala date, I'm going to have Kala tell the story...

She's giving me a tiara because I like tiaras. She picked the tiara for me. I like purple.

That's Grampa and me. My Grampa got me those flowers.

I love my dad. Because I like sitting down with my dad.

I am pretty and beautiful. The princess ball is fun.

The room is pretty. I like the lights.

Pretzels, pink and white cookies, fishies, and pieces of cereal. The pink and white cookies were my favorite. (Sister Vaden) gave me a lot of them!

I was dancing to the chicken dance.

I like dancing with my dad. My favorite was when my daddy made me jump really high. (Almost brought down the display.) Because it's fun to dance.

I like dancing with Grampa. We danced slow and then we danced fast!
I like being with him.

I'm jumping on my tippy toes. (When she asked if she could dance by herself.)
Because I like jumping.

Because I like making a crown. They didn't have purple, so I picked green.
I like the pretty jewels. There are different shapes.

My favorite part of the ball was dancing on the stage and twirling. I had a good time because
I was so exciting and it was so fun! I was happy when I got home. I had such a good time at the Princess Ball!

  (I love you, mom.)  --Kala.

Mykala had a lot of fun, but Chad said that it took awhile for her to warm up. She was a little nervous and apprehensive - it must have been somewhat overwhelming for her. Once she started dancing, she really enjoyed it. She was excited to see a little girl dressed up as Snow White... Chad said that she yelled, "Hi, Snow White!"

Kala's Puppy!! :)

Chad and I love this picture! :)
This is the first time (that we've seen) Kala draw a puppy - and it's awesome!!

Kala Quotes

"You're just jealous."

Kala: "Some days I forget the name of her dog."
Me: "Do you know what it is?"
Kala: "These are one of those days."

September 2, 2010

Jace, the other day, decided it was a good idea to color all over his and Kala's bedroom door with permanent marker. Hooray for 1 1/2 year olds!

Also, our only car's in the shop. Yay for cars!
