Fright Night Flight
We've read this book every night for the last month. Seriously.
The kids are obsessed with it and have it memorized. Every skeleton is now a 'jittery skittery skeleton', every mummy a 'musty dusty mummy'.... and so forth. Jacer was reciting lines from this book as we were trick-or-treating the other night.
It is a pretty cute book.

This year the kids went to the Trunk-or-Treat AND Trick-or-Treating - they were spoiled!! They had a blast in their costumes - little Jacer was so cute as a monster! He was so proud! He was a natural - he kept roaring at people and saying "I a monster!!"
And our Mykala looked beautiful! :) I was surprised when she picked Dorothy, but I must admit that it was a little nice to have a tiny break from the princesses.
We went trick-or-treating with Julian and Isabelle on Monday night and the kids really got a kick out of saying "trick-or-treat"... course, they had lots of practice from The Fright Night Flight. :) Jacer was funny trick-or-treating because he was so impressed with the Halloween decorations people had on their houses. I couldn't get him away from the doors because he was staring at all the decorations!
The kids were so good this year - miss Mykala was so polite!
But now we have too much candy....
want some?

नवरात्रि
Went to a Navratri festival last month with Kshama. I meant to put these pictures up then, but I've been busy.
Navratri is a festival that lasts 9 days, sometimes 10. It also celebrates Durga defeating a demon. The goddess form is worshipped all 9 (10) days, and they usually hold these late night dances every night. We were there from about 8-1am.
It was a lot of fun... there was good food, fun music, beautiful clothes, and fast-paced garba dancing for five hours straight! It was incredible!! (My feet ached for days) :)
Also, I was really disappointed about the fact that I had taken the damaged memory card with me, so I don't have many good pictures. Next year, I guess!
शुभ दीपावली!!
Today is (or more correctly the beginning of) Diwali! It's the celebration of good conquering evil and a time where relationships are strengthened and honored. It also marks the Hindu New Year.
So light a light! :)

Happy Diwali!

A Car Tea Party????
YUP.
(At first the cars were the guests, but it looks like they soon became what was being served...)
Kindergarten Program
Waiting for the program to start
Jace really wanted to ride the lizard.
Mykala and her teacher, Mrs. Purtell
On Grampa's birthday, September 28, the kindergarteners did a program called The Nursery Rhyme Rap. They sang Baa Baa Black Sheep, Twinkle Twinkle, Humpty Dumpty, Hickory Dickory Dock, and Going on a Bear Hunt. If I get a video of it, I'll definitely post it. It was very cute! Yay Mykala!!
New Rooms
Ok, so their rooms aren't finished, and probably won't be for awhile, but I had to post something.
Mykala and Jace now have their own rooms... it's been nice for all of us!
Mykala picked out the purple and loves having her own princess room, and Jace loves having a whole room dedicated to his cars and trains!

Another Lunceford Update
Well, it's that time again. I haven't been updating the blog as consistently as I should be, and for once there's a lot to tell. A lot is going on for us Luncefords.
Kala started school today, ASU starts Wednesday, I have started a new job, and we will be moving into a bigger apartment at the end of the month. So things have been a little hectic trying to put all of it in motion. We are very excited about all the changes. We're excited about Kala going to school, Chad's looking forward to his PhD, and we are all thrilled about having nights and weekends together! I think it will be an excellent and much needed change - and it's both wonderful and stressful that it's all happening at the same time. :)
Chad and I will have full loads again this semester. Chad will be gone all day taking classes, doing research rotations, and assisting lower level physics courses. I'll be taking classes - both online and on campus - and have rearranged my classes for a happier semester.
Also our move in a couple weeks will help us tremendously. Chad and I keep thinking about how wonderful it's going to be in a bigger place and having the kids in separate bedrooms! We can't wait!
Summer's almost over. It's hard to believe, and as always, it'll be hard to let it go. But this semester brings so many new and better things. I am hoping it's going to be wonderful.
Kindergarten!
Mykala's first day of school was today! She's going to John Jacob's elementary and her teacher's name is Ms. Kloeppel. So far she really likes it - she gets her own cubby, backpack, and desk. She's excited about the big playground and the prizes she gets for being good.
I can't believe how big she is getting! Chad and I both have mixed feelings about her going to school. We are of course very happy and excited for her, but we also can't help but feel a little apprehensive about sending our little girl out into the 'real world' so soon. And the day of the open house, we received a big packet of forms and 'to-dos' - we were worried it would be too much for such a little girl. But she seemed to do just fine. :)
She said she had a good first day. She was excited that she got two stickers for being so good and got to pick a prize (a Disney's Zeus toy) because of it!

Quotes from Kala:
Mom, take it easy on me cause what I have right now is the coughs and the hiccups.
